Old habits die quickly...apparently...

I've been blogging on MySpace recently. Nothing against Xanga...it's just where I've been "hangning" out for the past couple of months. Well, there and FaceBook.

Anyway - the house is inches away from being move in ready! YAY!! We had to make a few additions and changes to pass final inspection, but they were minor compared to what had to be done in the beginning.

If all goes well, we should be able to start moving in next weekend. Pray church, pray!!!!! It's been a long road to walk down - sometimes crawled on all fours - but it's been worth it to gain the experience and knowledge of what it actually takes to accomplish the huge feat we have done.

It began as a hurdle and ended as a high bar, but we made it! We sustained some tough hits through it all and have the bruises/scars to show for it; however, it was so worth it!!

Will I ever do this again?? Probably, but not for at least a year or so...and at that, it won't be such an extensive project as this one was. I'll place some before/after pics up next week before the furniture goes in so you can see what we did. I'm kind of in shock, myself.

Stay tuned...

I SURVIVED!!

I'm officially back from Crested Butte and man, do I miss the snow! I had a really great time and got my ski groove on :~)

I had this taken at the top of my favorite slope..."Painter Boy". It was below zero and really bright, so my eyes are all squinty, but I really was enjoying myself!

Wide shot

These are of my roomies for the week :~)

I can hardly contain myself!!!

In less than 5 days I will be in the gorgeous mountains of Colorado enjoying the gigantic piles of snow and cold weather!!!

YAY!!!!!!!

It's been 15 years since the last time I went skiing, but I know it will be just like riding a bicycle...only much more physically taxing. But I'm looking forward to the challenge and am excited about the trip.

I'll do my best to get some good pictures and will post them when I return. I'm going to look so cute in my ski outfit!!

More later...

P.S. The house is JUST about finished...still waiting on the kitchen cabinets and final inspection, but are definitely rounding 3rd at this point. Then it's home sweet home!!

Time Flies...

...when you've got a deadline!

Well, Christmas came and went in a hurry. *sigh* Sadly, no gorgeous hunk of a man underneath my tree or in my stocking this year. Oh well, there's still time before the new year...yeah, right!

Am looking forward to the Ski trip in a few weeks...YAY! Right in the middle of the finish-out on the re-model you say?!? I know...insanity, but it couldn't be helped. It'll be a nice break from the madness for me, though.

Still plugging away at the house and should be ready for inspection (pending the kitchen cabinet installation) late January. I am believing that we will be able to get moved in prior to that...Please LORD!!

All the tiny last minute details are what get to you in the end. It all comes down on you at once...the hinges, the door knobs, the shelving for the closets, the base boards, the touch-up paint, etc... AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I feel better now.

Anywhoo - can't wait until I'm moved in and settled so I can finally get things (and my life) in order again. I am in desperate need of re-organization and know that this move will afford me the opportunity for that.

Stay tuned for open house and additional party invites...
